Iran grieving following devastating earthquake

Thursday, November 30th, 2017

At least 445 Iranians were killed and over 7000 injured* after a devastating earthquake struck the Iran-Iraq border on 12 November 2017.

This has been reported as the deadliest quake in the world this year. The earthquake was felt as far as Kuwait, Qatar, Turkey, Lebanon, Israel and the United Arab Emirates. At least 7 people were also killed in Iraq.

Kermanshah province in west Iran has been worst affected. Most of the Iranian deaths were in the town of Sarpol-e Zahab where 236 people are reported to have died.

Please pray for the families of those who died, for the recovery of the injured and traumatised, and for the rebuilding of ruined communities.

Please pray for Christians in Kermanshah to radiate the love and comfort of Christ in both word and deed as they seek to help at this difficult time.
