Over the last year, Davood (not his real name) has been living in a city in the Iran region sharing a room with an Iranian Christian. Davood read all of the Christian books that his roommate brought home and after several months began attending church himself. One night after hearing the testimony of a church leader he decided to give his heart to the Lord.
Davood was very happy, he had changed. A renewed freshness of face had replaced the normal stress and anxiety, and immediately he phoned his family and wife in Iran with the good news. His family were not at all pleased and reported him to the authorities. A court letter was dispatched requesting that he must report himself to the authorities immediately on arrival back in Iran.
Despite repeated attempts, Davood's family would not speak to him and would hang up the phone whenever they heard his voice. Abbas was very upset and prayed and asked others to pray.
One week later his phone rang at 4am. His wife was in tears after having seen a dream and apologized for what she had done. Davood was thankful to God for the change in his wife's heart. Abbas continues to be a whole hearted worshipper at the Istanbul church, he also attends a new believers class where he is finding out more about his new faith.
Please pray for the work of the Iranian church in Turkey and the continued growth of new believers like Davood.
