Crying from the Streets

Though there is silence from the prisons, the cries of the people of Iran ring loud and clear as the message of the Gospel continues to have an impact across the nation:

A young mother of two, divorced after 3 years in a terrible marriage, recently wrote to Elam. She shared how in the six years since her divorce, she has become empty inside, depressed, and unable to relate to family and friends.  Her written cry for help: "How can I be healed?"

A drug addict from Tehran, whose miserable behavior led his wife to leave him and his children to hate him, encountered Jesus after being given the New Testament.  He was broken. His spoken cry to the evangelist: "How can I be forgiven?"

An academic Iranian man, who has been studying Christianity, is fascinated by the cross and trying to discover the truth.  He found our Persian website.  His sincere question to Elam: "What is the meaning of the cross, and why do Christians use it as a symbol?"

Despite the increase in persecution, we have seen a growing thirst for the Word of God in 2011.  The more we have distributed the New Testament, the more popular it seems to have become.  The more programs we produce for TV, the greater the response, and the more people we train for ministry, the faster the church grows.

Please pray that the cries of the people of Iran will be heard, and that the Holy Spirit will touch every broken life. Pray that Elam will continue to be faithful in proclaiming the Gospel in Iran.
