PART 2 - A Time To Learn

I heard of Elam College, its mission statement is to “help strengthen and expand the church in Iran and beyond”. It does this by training Iranian Christians to be leaders and ministers of the Gospel in Iran and among Persian speakers. I thought that this could be me, so in April 2004 I enrolled and attended their 4 month Christian Service Course. The purpose of this shorter programme is to help newer Christians gain a foundational knowledge of the Christian faith and develop skills to be effective in serving the church.

I am really grateful for this time as I had the opportunity to study God’s Word and Christian Doctrines in my native tongue. It also provided me with a good environment for my personal spiritual development and afforded me the time to seek to develop Gods vision for my future.

Following this course I decided to continue my studies at Elam for another two years where I have become a full-time student. Church history is my favourite subject but life at Elam College is not all study, a lot of time is also spent in prayer, fellowship and outreach.

Check back next time for the amazing experience that was my first ever mission trip!
