Have you ever wondered whether you would make it? If so, press on. Keep going. Keep trusting. The story of Elam Ministries is just one of countless stories of God’s faithfulness.
We dreamed of great things when we started in 1990. And then we came up against the challenges: Could we make any real difference in the face of opposition and persecution? Who would be willing to lay down their lives and join the vision and the team? Who would be willing to help provide the funding?
The first few years were indeed a challenge. And then things got worse. Three of our key partners in Iran were martyred in 1994 and then one more in 1996. And in the midst of all that heart ache we faced serious financial challenges and each month we wondered whether we would survive. It looked impossible for the ministry to flourish.
But here we are today, celebrating 20 years of God’s faithfulness. We have been blessed more than we dreamed. In 1990 I wanted to see 120 people trained to serve in Iran. Today more than 300 leaders have received training and thousands taught at conferences. We prayed for 30 mighty men to stand with us iin giving. Today we have hundreds who give sacrificially. I dreamed of printing 100,000 scriptures for Iran. We have printed more than 600,000. We wanted to reach Iran through the media. Today we have TV programs beaming into Iran daily.
What did it take? Not expertise or intellect. It took perseverance in trusting Him. He is the one who can deliver, and He is the one we trust. Elam Ministries has found that God is trustworthy, and that is what we teach our people. Keep going, no matter what the opposition, no matter what the circumstance. Because God is faithful.
