Elam College
To fulfil the need for training Christians from the Iran Region, Elam Ministries established Elam College – the only Persian speaking residential Bible College in the world. The College provides a two or three year high level, intensive training program with an objective of producing anointed, thinking, servants. It is totally geared towards the Iranian culture:
-
The College is led by Iranian Christian leaders.
-
The environment and culture of the College is Iranian
-
Classes are in Persian, and most teachers are Iranian.
-
Textbooks and study materials are in Persian.
-
Student mission & practical work is done with Iranians.
Elam College is based near London, England because it is not possible to train future ministers from non-Christian backgrounds in a residential setting in Iran or other parts of the region. Because the College is geared towards Iranian culture, students do not integrate into the West, but maintain their Iranian culture and are able to effectively minister to Iranians. Having developed successfully as a training centre for over 10 years, Elam College is uniquely able to provide high-level Bible, Theology, and Missions training for Iranians.
Elam College Media Centre and Correspondence Training Elam also trains Iranians through correspondence courses developed at the College. Students study at one of three levels: discipleship; lay leadership; or college level. Hundreds have been trained through this method and the enrolment on correspondence courses is growing.
To enhance the correspondence training programme, the Elam College Media Centre was established in 2002 tomake courses taught at Elam accessible through video and DVD. Filmed courses will greatly enhance Elam’s training by extension program. They will also be used independently by local churches in Iran and other parts of the Persian-speaking world to help train hundreds of others.
