“They’ve grown so much,” beams Roozbeh, one of the leaders of Elam’s two-year Worship Leader Training course, as he reflects on 20 emerging Iranian worship leaders who are in the final weeks of training in the Iran region.
The group includes:
- S, who has emerged as a very gifted song-writer
- E, who was very shy at the start, but now leads worship confidently
- M, a drummer, who has become a gifted guitarist during the course
“Over the past two years, we’ve seen these students flourish in their musical skills, their gifting as worship leaders and their maturity as believers. The vision was for them to become active, mature members of the local church – not just good musicians – and, praise God, that vision has been realized.”
The students have been receiving weekly teaching, attending weekly skills workshops, and doing regular assignments, while being mentored 1-to-1 by a mature worship leader. Many of the group will help mentor a fresh group of students who will begin the course later this year.
