Christian Kids’ TV, support and challenge from statistics

Wednesday, August 15th, 2012

Research based on interviews with over 900 ‘born again’ Americans has shown that 43% made a commitment to Christ before they were 13 years old; 64% before they were 18 years old.

The age of confessing Christ would be older in Iran, due to the closeness of most families which means that children would very rarely think of publicly leaving the religion they were born into. They would wait till they were young adults. But the secret decision in the heart would be roughly the same. Many engaged in ministry to Iranians have heard the comment, ‘As a child I was always attracted to Christ’ at the beginning of their story, ending with a firm commitment when they were adults.

So these statistics confirm the importance of sharing the message of the Gospel with young children – who will soon be turning thirteen. That’s the support from statistics for the Christian programmes presently being made for young children and being beamed into the Iran region. The teams who make these programmes need prayer.

The challenge is that there are no Christian programmes for young teenagers asking them to give their hearts to Christ. If it is true that this is a crucial time when decisions of the heart are made for life, this then is the time to reap the seeds sown by the children’s programmes by investing in a brilliant programme for young teens. Prayer is needed to raise up anointed programme makers, and for funds to be released.

Pray for

• Protection, wisdom, and creativity for all involved in creating programmes for very young children.
• Young Iranian children to be touched by these Christian programmes
• Funding and staff for an outstanding Christian programme for young teens
