Thursday, April 06th, 2017

On February 20, a mother and son, both converts to Catholicism, had their home in Urmia raided and they were taken into custody by the Revolutionary Guard. The whereabouts of the pair, known as Veronika and Augustine, are currently unknown, but it is believed that they may have been detained at the intelligence building of the Revolutionary Guards, where detainees often suffer very abusive treatment.

Please pray for Veronika and Augustine’s safety and that efforts to discover their whereabouts will be successful.

Update on Christians sentenced to flogging

On February 9, an appeal was heard in the case of three Christians sentenced to 80 lashes each for drinking communion wine. Their lawyer attended the hearing on the Christians’ behalf.  A verdict is still pending.

Please pray for a verdict to be issued soon and for justice for the men.
