The Christian community in Iran continues to face arrests, arbitrary detentions, interrogations, court cases and other injustices.
Just recently we heard of a brother who lost his job after a period of detention and interrogation. He is now worried about how to provide for his family. Other breadwinners also fear what will happen to their families if they are arrested. Others are already struggling under the burden of excessive bail sums demanded for the release of loved ones.
Financial pressure is just one weapon the government wields against religious minorities whom it wishes to silence. To learn about others, read this report by Middle East Concern, Open Doors International, Article 18 and CSW on violations of the rights of Christians in Iran in 2018.
Please pray for Christian breadwinners to be able to provide for their families, and that they would be able to trust the Lord amid uncertainty. Pray for resilience and comfort for Christians suffering in various ways at this time.
