Shirin has not had an easy life. At a moment of personal crisis she was deeply wounded and then abandoned by her family. She became an outcast.
When a Christian couple took her and her young daughter in, Shirin had her first taste of the love of Christ. In their care, she came to know Jesus and began to walk with Him as a disciple.
Then, Shirin took part in some online training that helped her grow in her passion and confidence for sharing the good news with others.
Today, Shirin is a gifted evangelist.
During July, Shirin was on a prayer walk in her community when she felt the Lord prompt her to go to the local hospital. Despite her fear of the coronavirus, Shirin went in and soon found a young woman who accepted her offer of prayer.
When Shirin finished praying, the young woman had tears in her eyes. "This morning I asked God to send someone to help me," the woman explained, "Now you are here! You mentioned Jesus. Are you a Christian?" So Shirin had the chance to share the gospel with her new friend and also gave her a New Testament.
Shirin has since had the opportunity to share the gospel with a taxi driver who was suffering with deep depression and hopelessness, and also with a doctor who was caring for her sick brother. Both were keen to receive a New Testament.
There are many others like Shirin who are being encouraged to share the hope of Christ in this season of immense spiritual openness. We are seeing evangelism accelerating faster than ever.
