A simple prayer: ‘That we may lead a quiet and peaceable life…’

Friday, February 18th, 2011

The apostle Paul calls on the entire church to pray for all who are in high positions so the result will be that people can live quiet and peaceful lives. With the revolution in Egypt and street demonstrations across other countries in the Middle East, this should signal to Christians to pray even more fervently for those in authority, so ordinary people can get on with their lives in a quiet and dignified way. The church also has a duty to remind all men of their most important duty which is this: ‘To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God’.

Pray for

  • Church to intensify intercession during times of unrest
  • Rulers to act justly and love mercy
  • Restraint
