Three Christian leaders forced to flee Iran

Monday, August 31st, 2020

A Christian couple in their mid-sixties and an unnamed house church leader have recently fled Iran after their prison sentences were confirmed at appeal.

Pastor Victor Bet Tamraz and his wife Shamiram Issavi left Iran on 15th August, the night before Shamiram was due to start serving her prison sentence. They and are now safe and well in another country according to their daughter, Dabrina. Shamiram was facing a five-year sentence while Victor faced ten years on charges related to their faith and ministry.

The third Christian leader - whose case is unrelated to Victor and Shamiran's - was also facing many years in prison. They have arrived safely in another country.

 Please pray for:

  • These three leaders as they rebuild their lives in new places;
  • Encouragement and strength for those who have lost their leaders;
  • Other believers facing prosecution because of their Christian activities.
