President Ahmadinejad congratulated the Christians of Iran during the Christmas season, but his government is severely opposed to the spread of the Christian message in Iran. As well as arresting Christians (see above), his government bans the publishing of Bibles and all Christian literature; bans the production and distribution of Christian CD’s and DVD’s; and attempts to block satellite TV and websites. At times Christians outside the country who long to share the message that has changed their lives wonder what they can do. There is one thing that always has invisible influence: passionate, sacrificial, earnest, intercession in the name of Jesus Christ before the throne of the sovereign all powerful God. It is an influence that no government for the last two thousand years has ever been able to stop. The loud cries of Jesus himself, to the apostles, to the prayers of the martyrs fed to the lions, down the ages to the saints crying out for the downfall of the Iron Curtain in our generation, intercession has never failed to see Christ glorified and man humbled.
