Some are celebrating. Some are condemning.
As the debate has raged on since the deal was announced, I’ve been reminded of Daniel 4:17: “The Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth…”
There is a higher plan at work.
Presidents and politicians will not have the final say on Iran, the Middle East or our world. The Lord, the God of the heavens and the earth, is working out His plans.
Amid all the turmoil of the Middle East, more Muslims have trusted Jesus as savior in the last 10 years than at any other point in history. Read more in these helpful books: Too Many to Jail and A Wind in the House of Islam.
At the heart of all this has been the remarkable growth of the Iranian church. Today, Operation World says Iran’s church is the fastest growing in the world.
I have no doubt that however good or bad the deal turns out to be, Jesus will continue to do what He said He would do: Build His church.
Friends, it is happening in our day. And I’m convinced this is a time for the global church to prayerfully align itself with God’s higher plan of salvation for the Muslim world.
Let’s look upwards in prayer and intercession, and then look outwards in practical action to make sure the Muslim world hears the Good News.
There will be new opportunities for the Gospel. Let’s be ready to make the most of them.
Our prayer requests:
- Pray that the Elam team will be able to look upwards and discern God’s will and plan for the days ahead.
- Pray that the people of Iran will continue to seek the true and living God.
- Pray that we will be able to preach Jesus and make disciples in Iran and beyond.
Grace and peace,
