New director for Christian Satellite broadcaster Sat 7 Pars, let’s pray for him
Friday, August 1, 2014
Sat 7 Pars is one of the major Christian TV channels for the Iran Region. They have a massive satellite footprint, 24/7. As well as broadcasting in Persian, for two hours a day from London and Cyprus, they also have programmes in Dari. Every day millions are able to watch their programmes which have a reputation for solid Bible teaching. Elam Ministries partners with Sat 7 in providing programming.
There is no doubt more and more Iranians are watching. In 2010 they had just over 9,000 responses to their programmes; in 2013 it was nearly 32, 000.
This month a new executive director came to Sat 7. Reverend Mansour Khajepour, 47, is from Mashad, Iran’s very religious second city, and was pointed to Christ by the example of three nuns.
Mansour paid a price for his new faith, but accepted the suffering.
"I was disowned by my family members, rejected by my friends, lost jobs, and faced imprisonment. However, all of these seemingly evil things God used to bless me, and shape my personality and faith. Now, three decades later, I rejoice in following, and serving the Lord of the Universe, and proclaiming the ultimate Good News - that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father!"
Graduating from Tehran’s university in the 1991, Mansour served as an elder in the city’s Presbyterian Church, but in 1996, after being in prison, he and his wife, Nahid Sepheri, moved to America. As well as preaching there, Mansour also started writing, and translating. He is the translator of the hugely popular title, ‘The Purpose Driven Life’ by Rick Warren. In 2008 Mansour received a Master of Divinity from Princeton.
Sat 7, along with other broadcasters, is playing a crucial role in reaching Iran in our generation. It is important we pray for Mansour as he takes up this major responsibility.
Pray for:
Reverend Mansour Khajepour
His wife, Nahid Sepheri; his children, Rebecca (18), and Matthew (13)
Increased impact of Sat 7 Pars under Mansour’s leadership
