6 Christians need prayer as they appeal harsh sentences

Wednesday, January 24, 2018

Four Christians from Tehran are requesting prayer as they prepare to appeal harsh sentences. Shamiram Isavi Khabizeh was sentenced to five years imprisonment on 6 January 2018 because of her Christian activities. Shamiram’s husband, Pastor Victor Bet Tamraz, and two younger believers, Afshar Naderi and Hadi Asgari, are also appealing long sentences, which they received in July 2017. An appeal hearing set for December 2017 was postponed and is yet to be rescheduled. Meanwhile two believers from Shiraz, Eskandar Rezaei and Soroush Saraei, were each sentenced on 28 December 2017 to eight years in prison. They are currently free on bail as they prepare to appeal these sentences.  Please pray for strength and comfort for the believers and their families; for wisdom for the lawyers; and for the judges to act with justice.
