Please join us in prayer for Iran’s neighbor, Afghanistan, in the aftermath of a devastating earthquake.

The quake struck in the middle of Sunday night (August 31) in the eastern, mountainous Kunar province, near the Pakistan border. Aftershocks are continuing.

The death toll exceeds 1,400 and is expected to rise significantly; thousands more have been injured; and countless buildings have been reduced to rubble.

In some cases, whole families were killed when their homes collapsed. Many mountain villages remain inaccessible to rescuers due to rockfalls and landslides.

For a nation with a broken economy (75% of the population struggles to meet their daily needs), this is a particularly devastating blow.

Please pray for:

• Comfort for the grieving and injured

• Help to reach those searching in the rubble for loved ones

• International aid to arrive swiftly

During 2025, hundreds of thousands of Afghan refugees have been deported from Iran to Afghanistan. Some of these are believers who came to Christ in Iran.
