Christian prisoner suffers numbness in her limbs and other health issues
Tuesday, November 10, 2015
Christian prisoner Maryam Naghash Zargarn (also known as Nasim) is suffering with severe health issues including numbness in various limbs. Last week she was granted a short period of leave from prison to receive treatment in hospital, but her medical leave was not extended, despite the need for ongoing physiotherapy and treatment.
Maryam, who has been in Evin prison in Tehran since July 2013, has suffered for many years with a heart condition and had heart surgery nine years ago. During her imprisonment she has not been able to receive the regular medical check-ups she requires. Whilst in prison she has also begun to suffer with numbness in her limbs and chronic joint pain, which the prison doctor has diagnosed as being caused by arthritis, osteoporosis and a slipped disc. She also has been suffering with anaemia, diabetes and high cholesterol. She has been denied medical leave until last week, but even then her treatment was cut short because her prison leave was not extended.
Please pray for Maryam’s health to improve and for her to be granted more leave from prison to continue her treatment. Please also pray for the dozens of other Iranian Christians in prison in Iran who might well be having health problems.
