Farshid Fathi denied medical treatment
Tuesday, May 6, 2014
Christian prisoner Farshid Fathi is being cruelly denied permission to return to hospital to receive further treatment for his broken foot. His injury was sustained during a violent attack on the prisoners of ward 350 of Evin prison on Thursday April 17 2014.
After being injured on what is now known as ‘Black Thursday’, Farshid was denied treatment for three agonising days before being taken to hospital on Easter Sunday, where his foot was put into a cast. The doctor advised that Farshid would need a further appointment one week later, and may well require an operation. Farshid has not been allowed to make a second trip to the hospital, despite him suffering much pain during the past two weeks. He has made many requests to various prison authorities for permission to go back for further treatment, but they have been repeatedly denied.
Farshid has been in Evin prison for nearly three and a half years because of his Christian faith and ministry. Farshid asks you to pray for him, particularly in this period when he is in great pain and his health is in jeopardy.
Pray for
Farshid to be granted the treatment he needs soon
Farshid’s foot not to suffer permanent damage
Iran to be held to account for the brutalities of ‘Black Thursday’
