Christian prisoner Mehri has recently been informed that her request to join a scheme that would allow her to see more of her three children (aged 7, 11 and 16) has been denied.

Sakine (Mehri) Behjati began serving a two-year sentence for “spreading ‘Zionist’ Christianity” in April 2022. Under an official prison scheme, she was hoping she may be able to serve the remainder of her sentence as an unpaid worker at a factory, while also being able to see her children more.

Despite positive signals from officials at her prison, her request to join the scheme was refused by the prosecutor’s office in Tehran.
 

• Please pray for strength and comfort for Mehri and her children, and also that her request to join the scheme might be reconsidered.

• Pray also for all Iranian prisoners of conscience unjustly separated from their children and loved ones.
