Thank you for praying for the Iranian church over Easter. Wonderfully, a number of Iranians put their trust in Jesus at special Easter gatherings. One of them was teenager Parvaneh, who lives in a country in the Iran region.

Parvaneh's parents are mature Christians and graduates of Elam's three-month course. They were heartbroken that their daughter's heart was hard to the Gospel. Having been counseled by their pastor, they persevered in prayer.

They were surprised when Parvaneh agreed to come to the Good Friday communion service at their church, which was rich in teaching on the cross. They were even more surprised when, before the Lord's Supper, Parvaneh came forward with tears in her eyes. God had touched her heart and she was ready to give her life to Jesus. Many years of prayers were answered in that moment and the joy of the Lord filled the whole church that night.

• For Parvaneh as she is discipled

• For others who put their trust in Jesus for the first time this Easter

• For the ongoing witness of Persian-speaking churches in the Iran region, like the one where Parvaneh confessed faith.
