Six Iranian young men gave their hearts to Jesus last week. They had never had the good news of Jesus clearly explained to them before, but everything began to change when, on the streets of a bustling Middle Eastern city, a fellow Iranian offered them New Testaments as part of New Year (Norooz) outreach. Their curiosity piqued, the young men went along to a Norooz celebration at a nearby church. There they heard about what Jesus had done for them, and by the end of the service each of them had surrendered their lives to Him. Persian New Year – or Norooz – is a time of celebration for Iranians; a time for family to come together over good food, or to even go away on holiday together to celebrate the arrival of the new year. It is also a strategic time to share the good news. Amidst the joyful, light-hearted atmosphere of the Norooz holidays, Christians share Jesus with thousands of people all over Iran and in the Iran region, just like the six young men.
