Afshin and Saloumeh lived in a broken marriage but were determined to stay together for the sake of their son. Then, one day, someone gave Afshin a Persian New Testament.

Having grown up with dreams of becoming a mullah, Afshin was surprised to find himself intrigued as he read the Christian Scriptures. Afshin reached out to some believers and began a conversation through which his questions were answered. Soon, he became a follower of Jesus.

As Afshin was discipled and grew in his faith, he started to share the Good News with others - including his wife. When Saloumeh also surrendered her heart to the Lord, she couldn’t stop crying. She explained that she couldn’t compare God’s love to any other love she had ever experienced.

Afshin and Saloumeh later participated in Elam’s three-month, church-planting course and are now distributing Scriptures and evangelizing in Iran. Their relationship has also been healed and restored as they have walked in Christ.
