In one month, the biggest celebration of the year for Persian speakers (Iranians, Afghans, Tajiks) will be upon us: Nowruz, or Persian New Year.

In Iran this beloved celebration falls this year on March 20th. It is followed by a holiday period in which many Iranians travel the country to visit family, and others take the opportunity to go on vacation overseas.

Amid these festivities, Iranian Christians are praying God would open doors for the Gospel. Inside Iran, many believers will be seeking to share God's Word, and to witness to non-Christian family members.

Churches in tourist hot-spots outside Iran are organizing outreach to the many Persian speaking tourists who will pour through. They hope to distribute thousands of copies of the New Testament; many will end up back in Iran.

Please pray for:

• Courage, wisdom and protection for believers in Iran who are thinking and praying about how best to share about Jesus with their loved ones

• Unity, divine guidance and protection for the Iranian Christians seeking to start sincere conversations with Iranian tourists in the Nowruz season

• Many people to encounter Jesus through God's Word this Nowruz
