Pray for Iranian Christians suffering this Christmas
Thursday, December 19, 2019
This Christmas, we ask you to take a few minutes to pray for those in Iran who are suffering for their faith in Jesus. Please pray for:
Those imprisoned for their faith, including Rokhsareh Ghanbari, a lady in her sixties who is serving a one-year sentence.
Ebrahim Firouzi, who was released from prison in October 2019 and has now been exiled for two years to a remote part of Iran, far from family and friends. Pray as he starts to rebuild his life in this new place.
Those who have been shunned or mistreated by family members for becoming a Christian.
Rev. Victor Bet Tamraz, a senior Iranian-Assyrian church leader, his wife Shamiran Issavi, and Kavian Fallah Mohammadi, Hadi Asgari and Amin Nader Afshari, who are appealing long sentences related to their Christian ministry. The courts have repeatedly postponed appeal hearings, leaving them in a state of limbo. Pray for others also in limbo with their court cases.
Pray for unknown individuals currently detained arbitrarily (detained for a long period without being charged) and being interrogated about their Christian activities.
Pray for strength, comfort and God's peace for these brothers and sisters, and for others who may face arrest at Christmas gatherings this year.
