Please pray for the family of Iranian Christian Rasool Abdollahi, who passed away unexpectedly on July 1st at home in Iran.

Rasool was a gentle and courageous man of God who stood firm in his faith, even during nearly two years of imprisonment for following Jesus. Released over a decade ago, he remained in Iran afterward as a faithful witness to Christ.

Rasool leaves behind his wife of more than 30 years and their two adult children.

Farshid Fathi, a friend of Rasool's who was arrested with him in 2010 and was imprisoned alongside him, shares the following: "Rasool was a very faithful man. 

Please pray for God's comfort for his family. His death is really painful but we are all on the same train. We don't know our beloved's station... but in the end we will all be together."

Rasool's loved ones are also deeply saddened that Rasool, a Christian convert from a Muslim background, was denied a Christian funeral and buried under Islamic rites—another hardship faced by converts.

Please pray for:

• Comfort for Maryam and the children as they grieve

• Rasool’s legacy to continue bearing fruit—may those who heard the Good News through him to now turn to Jesus

• Greater religious freedom in Iran, including the right for individuals to be buried according to their personal faith
