Iranian Christians are giving out tens of thousands of New Testaments during the ongoing Persian New Year (Nowruz) holidays.

Eighteen of those out sharing the Good News are students currently on our three-month evangelism and church-planting course in a county near Iran. They have had many encouraging encounters so far.

Last week, ministry student Sahar struck up a conversation with two friends out shopping. When Sahar offered them both a New Testament, the first woman made it very clear she was not interested. But the second woman was open. As the second woman and Sahar talked and then prayed together, the first woman stood to one side, impatient and grumpy.

Sahar was therefore most surprised when she looked up after prayer to find the first woman had tears in her eyes. Her combative attitude had melted away, and now she too wanted to receive a New Testament. Sahar is praying both women will read it and meet Jesus.

These two friends are among thousands who have received the New Testament in countries near Iran over Nowruz. Many of these copies will be taken back home to Iran, where many family members may also read them.
