In the story of Iran’s growing church, dreams have a special role. Hussein was a well-known mullah in a small town in Iran. He and his family were very strict Muslims. When the family heard that the mullah’s nephew and his wife, Ali and Fatimeh, had become Christians, they publicly condemned them as being ‘unclean’. It seemed this mullah would never hear the Gospel, let alone repent and be saved. One night though Fatimeh dreamt she had to go and tell the mullah that Jesus was God. When she woke up she felt nervous. It could be very dangerous. The mullah could have her arrested for proselytising, a serious crime in Iran.  Fatimeh phoned an Elam graduate for advice. The Elam graduate encouraged her to obey her dream, and reassured her that Fatimeh would be covered by prayer. So Fatimeh went. When she rang the doorbell Hussein’s family told her to leave. They did not want an unclean apostate in their house. Strangely though, when the mullah learned who was at the door he asked to see Fatimeh. Fatimeh entered the home, took off her shoes and was coldly led to the mullah’s study. There she sat on the floor, looked the mullah in the eye, and asked:  ‘Do you know that Jesus is God?’ The mullah’s reply astonished Fatimeh.  The mullah replied, ‘Yes, I believe Jesus is God…let me tell you why. Last night I dreamt that you – it was definitely you – would come to see me with a message. And in my dream I was told to believe what you said.’ Fatimeh paused; full of praise for the Holy Spirit’s leading. She shared the Gospel, and then led Hussein in a prayer of repentance.  The mullah became a Christian. Shortly after this he died. The Bible teaches that God the Father gives people to His Son.
